In the Asklepios Westklinikum Hamburg hospital in Hamburg-Rissen, the operating theatre area was modernized and expanded. The operating theatre number 5 was equipped with a LAF supply air ceiling with differential flow and flow apron. The ceiling complies with the required room class H1a, and the differential flow according to DIN 1946-4 (2018-09) achieves different outflow velocities of the supply air: higher outflow velocitiy in the core area and lower outflow velocity in the outer area. For this purpose the CG laminariser is only covered single sided in the core area and double sided all around.
The flow apron helps to direct the airflow specifically into the protective zone and keep it stable.
In addition, several fluff separators were installed in the operating theatre, partly in the ceiling and partly in the wall. They protect the supply air and the extraction air from fluff and clothing fibres.
